About Monster Coaching

The future looks so bright, I gotta wear shades.
— Cory Hart

The nice part about my Coaching style is that it is very unlike therapy. That’s why I call it “Un-Therapy.” You get instant feedback. I’ve been through it. I know how scary it can seem. This is where you can do the work you didn’t want anyone seeing you do. Yes, we also do shadow work.

Nothing to see here except you, off the socials, head down, doing the real work.

Emerge Victorious

I’ve got tea-sized sandwiches. We are good to wait here until further notice.

I haven’t figured it all out yet. Is that even a thing? I have, however, figured out how to get from there to here. And sometimes that’s enough. Coaching isn’t about being told what to do and how to be. Real coaching is about allowing you to make mindful choices that reflect who you are becoming, rather than being beholden to who you used to be. We only look back for context and clarity. Otherwise, coaching is forward-looking. We make room for the new you to step in and take over, versus feeding the old you who isn’t serving you anymore.

Everyone and their mother is a coach these days. That’s not what I do here.

My official title of “health & wellness coach” includes the word ‘coach’, and you won’t find anything other than true coaching here. I have been certified by the National Board of Health & Wellness Coaches, who are overseen by the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). Yes, that kind of coaching.

You still think they are all the same, don’t you? Come and find out just how very different real coaching is from everyone and their mother who have turned self-centered advice-giving into a persistent pastime. We don’t “Karen” here. BTW, I have 4 Karens that I know and not a one acts like a “Karen.”

The Coaching Process

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines.

    Getting A Pulse

After an initial assessment and intake session, together, we outline a path forward that’s realistic, strategic, and tailored to your specific needs. You set the topics, I ask you why. We don’t rush. We sit. We learn how to extract gold because that’s what you are, pure gold. Stay golden.

    Collaborative Coaching

I don’t give advice. I walk with you. You’re a huge part of the process. We scheme and plot together, using communication — no surprises. We peek at the monster together. We can pet him or put him back in his box and tell him to wait a bit longer. But whatever you decide, we do.

    Adapt as Needed

Every ‘body’ is different. You were built unlike anyone else. During coaching, we stay flexible and responsive to make sure the process fits your flow—not the other way around. Amazingly, I don’t have the answers. You do. I help you find the answers your soul has been dying to give you. That innate wisdom you already have.

    Integration

You’ve done the hard part. Now we celebrate because you have integrated what you have discovered during the coaching process into your real life. You are lit! I’m like Nanny McPhee, "When you need me but do not want me, then I must stay. When you want me but no longer need me, then I have to go.”

You don’t need coaching! Got it!

Everything’s fine. Nothing to see here!

What, now?

A post-apocalyptic scene of a damaged city with collapsed high-rise buildings, a destroyed bridge with parked cars, and a person in a hazmat suit walking among debris.

You’ve got it figured out. Do you know how I know? Because you are reading this and have obviously gotten where you are in life without even knowing me. So, there you have it. You don’t need coaching.

Now, if you tell me you want to challenge yourself. That you want to come out of your comfort zone and do the thing you didn’t think you could. Or perhaps you’ve been given some bad news, or maybe you just want to be better at being you and start taking care of yourself, and maybe you would like to stop yelling at your spouse or responding to society instead of screaming at it…Then I might say to you, "Coaching is for you because you are ready.”

They are talking about us…

  • “ Christmas delivered an excellent online class on resilience for our team at The Donkey Sanctuary Ireland. The session was clear, practical and engaging. She created a safe space for open discussion and gave our managers tools they could use straight away. I would highly recommend her to other HR leaders and CEOs who want to support wellbeing and resilience across their organisations.” www.thedonkeysanctuary.ie

  • "Christmas was awesome. If I could put her in my pocket and take her home with me, I would.
